Home to various wildlife species including birds, monarchs, butterflies, and more, County Grounds Park is one of the largest remaining open spaces in Milwaukee County. This park near Milwaukee is perfect for hikers, photographers, bird watchers and educators. Its rich habitat hosts several engendered species and is home to a few acres of an old growth forest, Sanctuary Woods.
The park consists of the County Grounds Park Loop that’s perfect for hiking, walking, and taking nature trips. Along with self guided trails, there are also lots of events and tours available. Volunteer opportunities are also frequently hosted to help preserve this environmentally rich land. So, take a walk and get involved!
