What is MidTown Tosa?

Located on West North Avenue between 80th Street and Swan Blvd, MidTown Tosa is home to 50 locally-owned, small businesses in central Wauwatosa.

Where to wake up

Finding the perfect cup of joe or breakfast pastry couldn’t be easier in MidTown. Venture over to Colectivo Coffee on Swan Blvd for the ultimate place to sit indoors in their hip cafe or outdoors on their patio. Colectivo serves locally roasted coffee and delicious light bites. 

Take a walk down West North Ave to Kwench Juice Cafe. Featuring all-natural ingredients and the freshest fruit and vegetables available, Kwench offers juices, smoothies, and acai bowls at its adorable spot in MidTown. They ensure your order is as nutritious as possible by avoiding powders, sugars, and dairy.

A Milwaukee-area favorite since 1996, Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters hand-picks their green coffee beans so you get the highest quality brew possible with each visit. Situated right across the street from Kwench Juice Cafe, Fiddleheads is an excellent spot to work remotely, enjoy their upstairs patio deck, soak in the sun at the downstairs patio deck, or simply grab a cup of coffee before heading out to explore Wauwatosa. 

Where to wind down

Grab a cold one at Lion’s Tail Brewing. Featuring a 15-barrel brewhouse (so they can brew on-site!), Lion’s Tail offers over 15 Lion’s Tail beers on tap. One of many highlights of this microbrewery is its expansive outdoor Biergarten where leashed dogs are welcome too! Plus, they have snacks on-site and also frequently bring in food trucks.

Not your average beer and wine store, Rays Wine & Spirits has a surprise full-service bar located right above. Head to the back of the building where you’ll be greeted by a stairway that takes you up to Ray’s Growler Gallery. This Tosa hidden gem is sure to raise your spirits with friendly staff and a great place to grab beer on tap, whiskey, wine, or slushies. 

Pro tip: Order Uncle Ray’s Brandy Old Fashioned slushie for their take on this Wisconsin staple.

Where to grab something delicious

No matter what you’re craving, MidTown Tosa has you covered. Devour a sweet treat from Joy Ice Cream which features the finest ice cream flavors made by Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream. This woman-owned-and-operated shop highlights small, local businesses and makers while scooping the good stuff for our community and visitors. 

Swing by MidTown Grill to grab the perfect meal for any time of day. This family-owned-and-operated restaurant features diner-style food with a modern touch. Dive into everything from numerous omelet options to an array of juicy burgers. 

On West North Ave, Thai-namite is all about delicious curries, noodles, and sushi. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere with any of its Asian cocktails in hand. 

Want to eat in a local park or make a picnic out of some great eats? Check out Lalli’s Pizza or Hui’s Cantonese American Cuisine for take-out-only options.
