Discover Wauwatosa is proud to bring back ART 64 for the third year! The truly unique, family friendly, outdoor event is sure to be like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. Whether you are a talented artist or just love a good outdoor event, ART 64 is for you.

For the last two years, ART 64 has taken over the streets of The Village of Wauwatosa and has become a must attend event for artists and spectators alike. In a head-to-head, bracket-style painting tournament, 64 artists paint live over the course of two days. Each artist is given 60 minutes to paint a predetermined theme on canvas.

During each round of competition, spectators both in-person and virtually, are encouraged to watch artists showcase their talents and vote for their favorites to advance to the next round.

All participating artists are incentivized throughout the competition with the grand prize being $20,000. In addition, all paintings will be available for sale through an online auction at the conclusion of the event.*

*The winning painting will be hung up at Wauwatosa City Hall.

What to expect in 2024.

A truly unique experience awaits every artist and spectator that attends each year. In addition to the art competition, visitors will be encouraged to explore The Village of Wauwatosa which includes dozens of restaurants, shops and experiences.

In 2024, ART 64 saw a 31% increase in applicants whose geographic location spans over 10 states. The increase in interest and participation will only help support our goal of making this the best live art competition in the Midwest – a must see event!
